Dr. Kenji Ojima is a Japanese orthodontic specialist with aligner orthodontics. A graduate of Showa University School of Dentistry, he trained under Dr. Werner Schupp in Germany and studied the Surgery First Approach under Dr. Junji Sugawara. He founded Hongo Sakura Orthodontics (2007), Smile Innovation Orthodontics (2015), and Ginza Sakura Orthodontics (2022) in Tokyo, later adding in-house, direct-print aligners. A former Invisalign speaker, he directs Medical Corporation Smile Innovation and has served as President of the Japan Academy of Aligner Orthodontics (JAAO) since founding it in 2014. He is Adjunct Professor at the University of Torino, Italy, and Editor of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics, Quintessence Publishing. He lectures internationally, most recently at AAO 2026, and received the Oral Presentation Award from the Italian Orthodontic Society (2014). He co-authored "Aligner Generation: Dr. Kenji Ojima's 131 Techniques & Analysis Points" (Quintessence Japan, 2025).
