Periodontal Valutation for Serial Extractions in Growing Patients

This presentation highlights the importance of early diagnosis supported by a periodontal evaluation in addressing cases of severe crowding in mixed dentition. Periodontal damage following orthodontic treatment is one of the major problems in orthodontics from many years. The goal is to provide the clinical and diagnostic aspects ( 8 clinical signs are presented )necessary to identify cases that are well-suited to treatment with serial extractions in growing patients according to a well-defined protocol. A diagnostic approach will be provided that, in addition to crowding and aesthetic assessment, emphasizes the clinical evaluation of periodontal tissues so as not to damage them with our orthodntic intervention. Through the presentation of some clinical cases at various stages treated with serial extractions , refined with fixed appliance and remote follow-up, we aim to validate the effectiveness of this type of therapeutic approach in mixed dentition. The presentation aims to enhance the periodontal assessment.
