He was Adjunct Professor in Periodontology at the University of Turin and at the Department of Periodontics of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Active Member of S.I.d.P.(Italian Society of Periodontology), I.A.O.(Italian Academy of Osseointegration) and I.A.E.D.(Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry). Winner of the H. M. Goldman prize for clinical research in Periodontology from S.I.d.P. in 2000 and of the E.A.O.(European Academy for Osseointegration) prize for clinical research in Implantology in 2010, he authored various publications on international peer reviewed journals, 2 textbooks and 5 chapters in other textbooks on periodontal and implant topics.
